CLERMONT, Fla. - Junior Jen Bach (Lansdale, PA/Gwynedd Mercy Academy) and sophomore Sarah Palleschi (Chatham, NY/Chatham) combined to throw a five-inning no-hitter as the Rensselaer softball team defeated Pine Manor College, 15-0. With the win, the Engineers improve 3-6, while the Gators fall to 0-9.

AUBURNDALE, Fla. - The Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) baseball team platted an unearned run in the bottom of the 10th inning to hand Rensselaer its first loss of the season, 7-6, in 10 innings. With the win the WPI Engineers improve to 6-0 on the season, while RPI is now 5-1.

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Freshman goalie James Manchester stopped all nine shots he faced to lead the Rensselaer men's lacrosse team to an 8-0 win over SUNY Potsdam in a non-league game. With the victory the Engineers stay unbeaten on the young season, improving to 3-0. The Bears fall to 1-1. Offensively for the Engineers, junior attack Nick Billy paced the team with three goals and an assist.

TROY, N.Y. – The NCAA has released the names of the 17 student-athletes selected to compete for the women’s East Squad at the 2010 Frozen Four Skills Challenge and Rensselaer women’s hockey player Allison Wright was chosen as one of nine alternates for the team, which will compete on April 9 at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich.

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - Powered by an 11-run effort in the seventh inning, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) baseball team defeated Keystone College, 14-0. The ninth-ranked Engineers, who were led by a 4 for 5 performance from senior catcher Patrick Reardon, improve to 5-0 on the season. The Giants, who are 17th-nationally, are now 4-2 overall.

TROY, N.Y. – ECAC Hockey has announced the winner of the 2009-10 Student-Athlete of the Year award and Rensselaer student-athlete Laura Gersten has been named this year's recipient. A senior, Gersten won the award over Dartmouth College’s Sarah Parsons and Harvard University’s Randi Griffin.
