TROY, N.Y. – The Rensselaer men's hockey team has added two events to its 2010-11 home schedule and a third contest will be held at the Houston Field House.  The Engineers open the season by hosting the University of New Brunswick in an exhibition game on Tuesday, October 5 at 7pm. Prior to that first game, RPI will hold its Annual Red-White Scrimmage on Saturday, October 2 beginning at 4pm.

TROY, N.Y. – Rensselaer sophomore Brandon Pirri has signed a three-year, entry level NHL contact with the Chicago Blackhawks. A forward, Pirri foregoes his final three years of college eligibility by signing with the Stanley Cup Champion Blackhawks. “Signing at this time would not have been possible without my experiences at RPI," said Pirri. "I learned a great deal from the coaching staff, my teammates and all the others who work with the Engineers.”
