Rensselaer's athletic training staff is responsible for the care and prevention of injuries for all the athletes on its 23 varsity sports teams. In addition, they oversee all aspects of sports medicine and health-related issues involving the athletes.

The staff is directed by head athletic trainer Anthony Ortolano, who has held the position since 1985, and has an extensive background in athletic training.  Chris Thompson serves as the staff's associate athletic trainer, while Dustin Flynn, Takayo Karasawa, Tera Patenaude and Matt Sadlemire are all assistant trainers.

RPI's athletic training staff works out of the Sports Medicine Center at the East Campus Athletic Village.  For an inside look, click HERE.
