Chuck Weber

Chuck Weber was named an assistant coach in the summer of 2018 and has since helped the Engineers average 15 wins a year since joining the staff.  The Engineers posted a 10-23-3 overall record, including 7-13-2 in ECAC Hockey play in 2018-19 with wins coming at nationally-ranked Cornell for the second straight season (3-2) and a sweep of the regular season series with rival Union.Chuck Weber The following season they compiled a 17-15-2 record, including wins in each of their last four contests, captured the Mayor's Cup and garnered a bye through the first round of the ECAC Hockey Playoffs following a fourth place finish (13-8-1). RPI never got the opportunity to play in the post-season because the tournament was called off due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Several student-athletes earned post-season league recognition, including Will Reilly, who was All-League before signing an NHL contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Year after the COVID cancelled season the team rebounded with an 18 win campaign. The 22-23 season Engineers won 14 games including a 12-6-1 record at Houston Field House.

Weber came to Troy after spending a season at the helm of the Atlanta Gladiators of the ECHL (2017-18) and a year as an assistant coach with the Rochester Americans of the AHL (2016-17). He spent the previous two seasons as the head coach of the Coventry Blaze in Great Britain's Elite Ice Hockey League, leading the team to a championship in 2015 and a runner-up finish in 2016 including being named 2015 Coach of the Year by media. He helped Great Britain earn a silver medal at the 2016 World Championships with a 4-1 record. A stint with Medvescak Zagreb Hockey Club in the Kontinental Hockey League in 2014 was preceded by five years with the Florida Panthers organization as the head coach, assistant coach and director of hockey operations for its AHL affiliate. Weber was the head coach and vice president of hockey operations for Cincinnati of the ECHL from 2006-10, leading the Cyclones to the Kelly Cup in 2007-08 and 2009-10. They won the Brabbam Cup in 2007-08. He won the ECHL Coach of the Year in 2007-08 and was runner-up in 2006-07. The Cyclones compiled 240 wins over a four-year span, which led all of pro hockey during period. Among his other experiences were as assistant with the Utah of the ECHL (2005-06), assistant director of hockey operations for Augusta, also of the ECHL (2003-05), assistant with Milwaukee of the AHL (2002-03), assistant with Trenton of the ECHL (2001-02) and assistant coach and video scouting coordinator for the Orlando Solar Bears (1999-01), where he won the Turner Cup in 2001. Weber has worked for nine different NHL teams in development and has aided hundreds of players reach the NHL. A member of the ECHL Rules Committee from 2008 to 2010 and is presently a member of NCAA Ice Hockey Rules Committee since 2022. Weber earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Albany in 1995. He is joined in Troy with his wife Angie, son Everett (EJ) and dog Molson.
