At 5’7” Albino was perhaps the best left-handed pitcher in Rensselaer history. His records at graduation included best won-lost record, 24-8; most games won, 24; most complete games, 17; most complete games in a season, 8; and second in strikeouts in a game, 9. Chris was selected to the Upstate Division III First Team in 1988 and was named All-ECAC First Team and All-ICAC First Team in both 1989 and 1990.  Albino, the starting pitcher in Rensselaer’s first-ever NCAA Regional Game in 1990, holds a career batting average of .363.

Albino’s coach, Karl Steffen, said, “If he were six feet tall he would have been a pro prospect. Chris was an aggressive player who went right after the hitters. He could throw to spots where people just couldn’t hit the ball. In his senior year, he was our big-game pitcher, and in every game we had to win, Chris Albino was on the mound. He set the standard for all the pitchers who followed him in our program.”

A civil engineering major, Albion was inducted into Olympia.
