Served in various coaching capacities in 29 years at RPI ... Served as the head football, head golf and head lacrosse coach ... Coached freshman basketball team for 17 years ... Came to RPI in 1946 and had a seven-year football coaching record of 19-35-2 with the 1949 team finishing 6-2 … Had two Little All-American players (Art Beard in 1948 & Dean Armstrong in 1949) and one (Harry Neugold) tryout for the pros … Had a 12-year golf record of 53-43-2, giving up the sport in 1960 … In nine years as head lacrosse coach (1961-69), had a 52-50 record with the last four teams having a 37-12 mark ... Team was 10-1 in 1966 ... Coached two All-American players (Stan Sweetser in 1967 & Joe Quackenbush in 1969) and nine players compete in North-South Game ...
