Bob Conway, a Troy, N.Y., native, has worked closely with the students, as well as with the staff and administration, for nearly

40 years to ensure that Rensselaer's student-athletes maintain one of the highest graduation rates in the nation - at any level.
Formerly the director of the Advising and Learning Assistance Center, he was responsible for starting a number of programs aimed at assisting RPI's students through their academic careers. Under his leadership, the Center oversaw the development of a variety of new advising programs, including the Faculty Intervention Program, Meet Your Advisor Day and an extensive website of advising information.
A University of Albany graduate and former Mayor of Troy, Conway has been presented with numerous honors, including the first-ever "Pillars of Rensselaer Award," which recognizes a long-term staff member who understands the Institute's mission and history, has been a role model for other employees, shows concern for students and their welfare, adds to the human dimension of the school and who plays an active role in their home community.
