Known as "Mr. RPI" ... At RPI for 36 years as cook with most of this time spent at the Student Union … Began temporary work as dishwasher in 1941 ... Aided RPI student-athletes over the years by bringing them into his home … Started providing housing to RPI athletes in 1954 … Honorary graduate of the Class of 1972, receiving a ring and diploma … Honorary member of TX, SAE, and LXA fraternities ... RPI President George Low in June of 1980: "Willie Stanton was one of the most respected men in the RPI family.  He embodied the spirit of dedication and love.  Over the years he gave guidance and support to thousands of students." ... Started the William P. (Willie) Stanton Scholarship ... Third non-athlete inducted in Athletic Hall of Fame ... Troy, New York.
