POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Freshman Mike Henzel (Niwot, CO/Niwot) scored just eight minutes into the game and junior Nick Bochette (Schaghticoke, NY/Hoosick Valley) stopped all eight shots he faced to make it stand and the Red Hawks downed Vassar 2-0 in a Liberty League men's soccer game.  With the win, Rensselaer is now 6-2-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the league.  Vassar falls to 3-5-1 and 0-3-0.

Henzel put RPI ahead when he took a pass from Tim Wisner (Middleburgh, NY/Middleburgh) and went in alone on the goalie, who he beat.  Sophomore Gary Sroka (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) made it 2-0 when he ripped a shot over the goalkeeper's from 25 yards out.

Bochette earned the win in goal by stopping one shot in the first half and seven in the second.  Vassar got four saves, including three in the second half, from Jason Cetel.
