Men's Soccer Falls to Hamilton, 3-1

CLINTON, N.Y. - Greg Rogan (Dhahran, Saudi Arabia/South Kent School) scored two goals to lead Hamilton College to a 3-1 Liberty League win against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) at Love Field.  With the victory the Continentals improved to 3-2-1 in the league and 8-3-1 overall and clinched the third seed in the league tournament.  Rensselaer is now 7-6-2 overall and 1-4-1 in the league.

Rogan opened the scoring in the 28th minute of the first half and he made the score 2-0 just 2:27 into the second half on a throw-in from Patrick Suarez (Wappingers Falls, NY/Roy C Ketcham Senior High School). 

Zach Kelly (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) also scored for the Continentals on a head ball at 76:01 to secure the victory.  The Red Hawks' Gary Sroka (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) scored an unassisted goal at 77:46 to pull Rensselaer within two goals, but the Engineers were unable to complete the comeback.

Anthony Carello (East Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse-Minoa) made four saves in his first start in goal for Hamilton.   Rensselaer's John Thibdeau (Altamont, NY/Bethlehem) also recorded four saves.

Hamilton hosts Vassar College on Saturday at 2pm at Love Field.  Rensselaer, which was eliminated from the Liberty League playoff picture, travels to Geneva, NY, to take on Hobart in a 2pm matchup.  Both games are league games.
