GENEVA, N.Y.- The Hobart College men’s soccer team defeated Rensselaer, 2-1 with senior Micke Subotowicz (Stockholm, Sweden/Farsta Gymnasium) tallying two assists on the afternoon.  With the win, the Statesmen improve to 7-7-2 overall and 3-4-0 in the Liberty League.  The Red Hawks are now 8-6-2 and 2-4-1 in the league.

RPI senior Craig DiDomenico (Commack, NY/Commack) put the Red Hawks up 1-0 after he converted a pass from Kevin Grammer (Weymouth, MA/Weymouth) at 36:10 of the first half.

In the second half, sophomore Tyler Webster (Acton, MA/Acton Boxboro) put the ball past RPI goalie John Thibdeau (Altamont, NY/Bethlehem) off a Subotowicz free kick at 65:07 to tie the score.  With just ten minutes left in the match junior Tucker Crockett (Rosemont, PA/Episcopal Academy) sealed the victory for the Statesman when he scored on a pass from Subotowicz.

Phil DaCosta (Manchester, NH/Manchester Memorial) had five saves in the Hobart goal for the victory.  Thibdeau recorded five saves for the Red Hawks.

The men’s soccer team returns to action Saturday when it plays its final regular season game against Elmira College at 3pm at Harkness Field.  Hobart also returns on Saturday in its final regular season game at home versus Fredonia at 1:30pm.
