POTSDAM, N.Y. - Junior forward Oren Eizenman (Toronto, ON/Wexford Raiders) scored twice and freshman goaltender Mathias Lange (Klagenfurt, Austria/New York Apple Core) made 26 saves, including a game-saver on a 2-on-1 with under a minute remaining, to lead the Engineers to a 3-3 tie at Clarkson.  The game was the first of the 22-game ECACHL schedule for both RPI (4-3-1 overall; 0-0-1) and the Golden Knights (4-2-1; 0-0-1).

Sophomore Jonathan Ornelas (Mississauga, ON/Milton IceHawks) put the Engineers ahead with a power play goal early in the first period but Clarkson knotted the score with an extra-man goal of its own later in the stanza. 

Eizenman scored his first of the game and fourth of the season, unassisted, late in the second period but the Knights tied the score early in the third.  Eizenman tallied again, also unassisted, for a 3-2 lead but Clarkson again fought back to tie the game.

Lange finished with nine saves in the first period, seven in the second, eight in the third and two in overtime to help Rensselaer extend its unbeaten streak over the Golden Knights to five games (4-0-1).  David Leggio stopped 20 shots for Clarkson.
