SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Rensselaer scored 20 second-chance points on the way to a 65-47 Liberty League men’s basketball win over Skidmore College, Saturday afternoon at the Sports and Recreation Center.

RPI (6-11, 4-3 Liberty) used a 24-9 first-half rebounding advantage to build a 29-11 halftime lead. The Thoroughbreds fought back in the second, but could get no closer than 12 points.

For the game, the Red Hawks outscored Skidmore 32-18 in the paint and outrebounded the Thoroughbreds 48-26.  Tom Schneider (Nashua, N.H.) led the Red Hawks with a game-high 16 points and 15 rebounds.  Russell Herman added 10 points and seven boards.

Greg Gallagher (North Haven, Conn.) led Skidmore (4-13, 1-6 Liberty) with 12 points.
