Box Score

BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore Erin Seman (Ramsey, MN/Anoka) scored midway through the overtime period and added an assist on each of the Terriers goals in regulation to lead Boston University to a 3-2 victory over Rensselaer in non-conference action at Walter Brown Arena. With the victory, BU improves to 3-0-0 overall while the Engineers fall to 0-4-0 on the season.

Speeding into the RPI zone, Seman got the puck from sophomore Genevieve Laing (Rochester, NY/Buffalo Bisons) and sent a shot past RPI goalie Ashley Mayr (Burnaby, BC/BC Breakers) for the game-winner at 2:12 of the overtime session.

Sophomore Sarah Appleton (New Canaan, CT/Berkshire School) opened the scoring for Boston University, less than two minutes into the game.  Collecting a pass from classmate Melissa Anderson (Langley, BC/BC Breakers), Appleton skated up the ice, lifting the puck past Mayr at 1:41.

Freshman Allysen Weidner (Wichita, KS/Shattuck St. Mary's) made it a 1-1 game just seven minutes into the second period with her first collegiate goal.  Junior Ellen McNamara (Macomb, MI/Little Caesars U-19) earned the lone assist on the tally.  Boston University regained the lead at the 19:57 mark to take a 2-1 lead into the intermission.

Weidner would score her second of the game at the 17:56 mark of the third period, off a pass from freshman Whitney Naslund (Bloomington, MN/Bloomington Jefferson) to tie it at 2-2.

Sophomore Allyse Wilcox (Grand Blanc, Mich./Honeybaked U-19) posted 28 saves in the victory for the Terriers while her counterpart, Mayr, stopped 15 shots in defeat.
