GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The Fighting Sioux scored once in each period and Brittany Kirkham made 32 saves, including 17 in the third period, to defeat Rensselaer, 3-1, in a non-league women's hockey game.  North Dakota improves to 1-0-0 while the Engineers fell to 0-2-0.

Sophomore Nicole McDonald scored an unassisted goal for RPI, who got 13 stops from sophomore Ashley Mayr.
