ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Junior forward Sam Simmons (Newburgh, NY/Newburgh Free Academy) hit a jumper at the buzzer to break a tie and give Rensselaer a 57-55 victory over Arcadia in the third place game of the Scotty Wood Tournament at Muhlenberg College.

Simmons, who tied Friday night's game with a late basket before RPI (1-1) fell at the horn, finished with a team-best 12 points and nine rebounds.  Senior Neal Wesson (Portsmouth, RI/Portsmouth) had ten points - including a basket at the end of the first half from below the foul line at the other end and near the sideline that hit nothing but net - and five rebounds.  Clay Hadley (LaGrange, IL/Lyons Township) chipped in with ten points.  Five other players had at least two points for the Red Hawks, who led for much of the game against Arcadia.

Kevin Brown led Arcadia (0-2) with a game-high 17 points.

Simmons and Brown were named to the All-Tournament Team.
