Red Hawks fall to Oswego St., 76-55

TROY, N.Y. – Senior forward Jessica Tremblay (Colonie, NY/Colonie) scored 13 of her 19 points in the second half to lead the Oswego St. women’s basketball team to a 76-55 win over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in a non-league game at Robison Gym.

Tremblay, a forward, also had a game-high six rebounds, including four offensive, a block, and four steals to help the Lakers improve to 2-2. Two other student-athletes, Sarah Lombard (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs) and Lyndsey Marquit (Castleton, NY/Columbia), also reached double digits in points. Lombard had 14 while Marquit scored 11.

For Rensselaer, which trailed by eight at the half (36-28), senior Kristi Baranowski (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) led the team in scoring with 11 points. She also had a game-high six rebounds (1 offensive), along with a block, a steal, and an assist. Eight other Red Hawks scored and two had six rebounds apiece.

Rensselaer returns to action on Tuesday night for a non-league game at Williams College (7:30pm). Oswego St. is also back on the court on Tuesday when it travels to SUNY Geneseo for a league game (6pm).
