GENEVA, N.Y. - Sophomore Sara Stylinski (Southington, CT/Southington) scored 6:52 into the game but William Smith scored the next four goals, including three in the first half by Sophie Dennis, and the Herons defeated Rensselaer's field hockey team, 4-1, in the semi-finals of the Liberty League Tournament.  William Smith, the top-seed, improves to 14-3 and advances to Saturday's final.  RPI finishes the season with a 9-10 mark.

Stylinski batted in a rebound under seven minutes into the contest but Dennis, the league's Player of the Year, put the home team ahead.  She scored her first of the game, and 24th of the season, at 12:56 and then scored twice within three minutes with under ten minutes remaining in the half.  Ashley Barker added a goal for the final margin.

Jen O'Neil (Derry, NH/Pinkerton Academy) finished with 12 saves for the Red Hawks, including seven in the second half.  Katie DeKraker made two saves in the win for the Herons.
