Red Hawks tally 20 steals in 55-42 win

COSTA MESA, Calif. - Two student-athletes recorded double-doubles and Rensselaer made 20 steals in holding Babson to just 21 points in each half on its way to a 55-42 victory in the Surf City Classic.  RPI, the beneficiary of 31 turnovers, improves to 4-4.  The Beavers fall to 3-5.

Sophomore guard Whitney Coleman (Etiwanda, CA/Etiwanda), a Southern California native, paced the Red Hawks with team-highs of 13 points, 11 rebounds, including six offensive, and five assists.  She also had three steals and a blocked shot.  Senior forward Kristi Baranowski (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) also reached double figures in points and rebounds, recording 10 and 10, respectively.  She also had five steals, an assist, and a block.

Senior guard Destany Eagles (Conway, SC/Carolina Forest) chipped in with nine points, four rebounds, five steals, and an assist.

The Beavers were led by junior forward Caitlin Boulier (Wolcott, CT/St. Margaret's McTernan), who had a game-high 14 points.
