Three student-athletes reach double digits

COSTA MESA, Calif. - Three student-athletes reached double digits in scoring and Rensselaer held a big advantage on the boards in defeating Delaware Valley College, 68-63, in the Surf City Classic.  RPI, which had 11 more rebounds than the Aggies, improves to 5-4.  The Red Hawks have won five of their last six games.  DVC falls to 3-6.

Rensselaer sophomore guard Whitney Coleman (Etiwanda, CA/Etiwanda) led all scorers with 18 points while senior forward Kristi Baranowski (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) recorded her second straight double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds.  Coleman also had three rebounds, an assist, and three steals and Baranowski added an assist and two blocked shots.

Liz Barker (Springfield, MA/Cathedral) had 11 points and nine rebounds, along with two assists and a block and Missy Jackman (Danvers, MA/Danvers) recorded seven points, eight rebounds, six assists, and three steals for the Red Hawks.  Rensselaer held a 50-39 rebounding advantage, including 27 offensive caroms. 

Delaware Valley was led by junior guard Moira Donahue (Philadelphia, PA/Cardinal Dougherty), who had 17 points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
