NORTHFORD, Conn. - The Rensselaer men's hockey team scored three third period goals to erase a 4-1 deficit and goaltender Mathias Lange (Klagenfurt, Austria/New York Apple Core) made a career-high 49 saves to lead the Engineers to a 4-4 tie at Quinnipiac in an ECAC Hockey League contest.  Lange, a sophomore, stopped 13 shots in the first period, 14 in the second, 14 in the third, and eight in overtime as RPI saw its record move to 4-4-6 overall and 1-1-3 in the league.  Quinnipiac is now 7-4-4 and 4-2-3.

The Bobcats jumped out to a 2-0 lead before Rensselaer junior Andrew Lord (West Vancouver, BC/Vernon Vipers) tallied his first goal of the season late in the second period.  The home team got that goal right back, however, for a 3-1 lead after two periods.

Quinnipiac made it 4-1 with a power play goal on a five-minute man-advantage before the Engineers staged their comeback.  Sophomore Seth Klerer (Thornhill, ON/North York Rangers) scored at 7:15 of the third period and freshman Paul Kerins (Weston, ON/North York Rangers) followed with a shorthanded marker just 1:08 later.  Sophomore Matt Angers-Goulet (St. Augustin, PQ/ Notre Dame) knotted the score with a power play goal at 12:20 and Lange kept the score tied from there.  Lord helped set up two of the goals to finish with three points.

Quinnipiac was led by Jamie Bates (Toronto, ON/Wexford Raiders), who had two goals, Brandon Wong(Victoria, BC/Merritt), who had a goal and an assist, and Jean-Marc Beaudoin (St. Paul, AB/Bonnyville), who also had a goal and an assist.  Bud Fisher (Peterborough, ON/Lindsay Muskies) stopped 19 shots in goal.
