POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Senior forward Tom Schneider (Nashua, NH/Bishop Guertin) led four players in double figures as Rensselaer defeated Vassar, 67-63, in a Liberty League game.  With the win, the Red Hawks improve to 10-12 overall and 8-4 in the league.  RPI has now won five of its last six games and solidified its position in third place in the league standings.  Vassar falls to 11-11 and 3-9.

Rensselaer's leading scorer, Schneider had a team-high 18 points and 11 rebounds to pace the visitors.  He also had two assists, a block and a steal in 36 minutes.  Others in double figures in points for the Red Hawks were seniors Neal Wesson (Portsmith, RI/Portsmouth) and Matt Zepernick (Northport, NY/East Northport), who had 11 points apiece, and freshman Sam Simmons (Newburgh, NY/Newburgh Free Academy), who chipped in with ten.

Tyson Brazell led the homestanding Brewers with 20 points while Lawrence Avitable scored 14 points.

RPI plays its final two games of the regular season at home this weekend against Skidmore (Friday at 8pm) and Union (Saturday at 4pm).  One win clinches a berth in the Liberty League Tournament.  Vassar hosts the same two teams this weekend.
