The Engineers, who honored five seniors in a pre-game ceremony, finish their inaugural Division I season with an 18-6-2 record. The Bobcats fall to 10-17-5 overall.

In 14 games this season, Schiff posted a 9-4-1 record with a 1.96 goals against average and a .916 save percentage. She finishes her career with a 40-19-3 record, a 1.56 goals against average and a .938 save percentage.  She is the school's all-time record holder for games played (65), games started (62), minutes played (3647:17), highest save percentage (.938), wins (40) and shutouts (15).

The Bobcats jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on a goal by senior Kathryn Dallimore (Mississauga, ON/Jr. Chiefs) at the 2:35 mark. Dallimore found the rebound of a Vicky Graham (Glen Riddle, PA/National Sports Academy) shot in front of the net and slid it past Schiff for the tally.

Rensselaer tied the game just 16 seconds later when freshman Jaime Jaquard-Sowa (North Vancouver, BC/BC Breakers) found the back of the net. Collecting a pass in front from junior Sarah Daniel (Calgary, AB/Bowness Bruins), Jaquard-Sowa found space between the pipe and Bobcats goalie Connie Craig (Calgary, AB/Springbank Bears) for a goal at 2:51. Sophomore Brooke Thompson (Rochester, NY/Rochester Edge) was credited with the secondary assist.

The Engineers made it 3-1 late in the stanza on two goals within a minute of each other. Freshman Nicole McDonald (Ottawa, ON/Ottawa Raiders) fired the puck in off a rebound of a Jamie-Lynn Stewart (Cambridge, ON/Cambridge Jr. Fury) shot for a one-goal lead and Daniel put RPI up by two heading into the intermission, sending a wrist shot over the shoulder of Craig with 52 seconds remaining.

Quinnipiac battled back in the second period when Graham put a shot past Schiff to make it 3-2. The Bobcats continued to pressure RPI, outshooting the Engineers 10-4 in the stanza and 33-21 in the game.

Schiff recorded 15 saves in the third period to preserve the 3-2 victory. Craig finished with 18 saves in goal for Quinnipiac in the loss.
