ORLANDO, Fla. – Adam LoGiudice (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) scored two goals and added five assists to lead Rensselaer to a 14-3 win over Liberty League foe Vassar in men’s lacrosse action today. With the win, RPI improves to 3-2 overall with a 1-0 league mark. The Brewers fall to 1-3 on the season and 0-1 in the Liberty League.

Rensselaer jumped out to a 6-2 lead in the first half, with four goals coming in the opening stanza. Vassar tallied two in the second quarter and added a goal in the third but was unable to overcome the deficit. The Red Hawks posted six goals in the final period for the 14-3 winning margin.

Offensively the Red Hawks were led by LoGiudice with seven points. Sophomore Briggs Thompson (South Lyme, CT/East Lyme) posted three goals and an assist, while classmate Josh Begley (Camillus, NY/West Genesse) added two goals and two assists. Junior goalie Ryan Michels (Wilmington, DE/Brandywine) recorded ten saves in goal for Rensselaer to improve his personal record to 3-2.

For Vassar, junior goalie Will Widen (Glen Ridge, NJ/Montclair Kimberly) finished with 10 saves in the loss. Three different players scored for the Brewers, led by junior midfielder Steve Cataldo (West Islip, NY/West Islip).
