NEWTON, Mass. - Senior midfielders Adam LoGiudice (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) and Chris Sherman (Newark, DE/St. Marks) both scored twice and freshman Josh Secora (Evergreen, CO/Golden) tallied once but it was not enough as the Rensselaer men’s lacrosse team lost to Lasell, 6-5, in a non-league game.

RPI led 1-0 after the first quarter and added another tally in the second period, but the Lasers fought back with two goals of their own to tie the score 2-2 heading into the halftime. Both teams added a pair of goals in the third stanza, keeping the score deadlocked at 4-4, leading up to the final quarter.

LoGiudice scored the go-ahead goal (5-4) for the Red Hawks less than a minute into the fourth period, but Lasell came back minutes later when Louis Lucchetti (Newton, MA) netted the game-tying goal at the 11:30 mark.

Eleven minutes of scoreless lacrosse followed before junior Dan Russo (Hyde Park, NY) scored the game-winning goal with 32 seconds remaining in the game. Goalkeeper Mark DeMieri (Seaford, NY) made some very timely saves in the Lasell net to earn the win. Red Hawks goalie Ryan Michels (Wilmington, DE/Brandywine) made eight saves in defeat.
