CLINTON, N.Y. - Senior Adam LoGiudice's (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) goal at 2:36 of overtime gave the Red Hawks a dramatic 11-10 win over Hamilton in Liberty League action.  RPI, which tied the game late in regulation, improves to 2-0 in the league and 4-5 overall while the Continentals fall to 0-1 and 5-1. 

After a first period in which the teams combined for five goal, including three by RPI, the two teams expoded for five goals apiece in the second period.  The Red Hawks, who saw five different student-athletes tally in the second, then led 9-8 after three periods.  The homestanding Continentals scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter before freshman Josh Secora (Evergreen, CO/Golden) tied the game for Rensselaer with his second goal of the game with 3:32 remaining.  LoGiudice, who finished with three goals and an assist, then won the game for the visitors.

In addition to LoGiudice and Secora, Alex MacDiarmid (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford), who also had a team-best eight ground balls and was 10 for 15 on faceoffs, and PJ McComb (Newington, CT/Newington) also had multiple goals for the Red Hawks.  Mike Sampson (Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) chipped in with a goal and an assist and junior Ryan Michels (Wilmington, DE/Brandywine) stopped 12 shots for the win in goal.

Clark Winter had three goals and four assists in the loss for Hamilton, which saw Ethan Shoemaker make six saves.

Rensselaer has won five straight games against the Continentals and the Red Hawks lead the all-time series, 15-2.  Rensselaer hosts nationally-ranked Middlebury College on Tuesday, April 4, at 4pm.  Hamilton hosts St. Lawrence University for a league game on Saturday, April 8, at 2:30pm.
