POTSDAM, N.Y. - Trailing 7-3 after the opening 30 minutes, the Rensselaer women's lacrosse team (4-8 overall, 2-4 Liberty League) outscored Clarkson, 6-1, in the second half to pull out a 9-8 victory on the road.

Freshman Kerri Clark (Saratoga Springs, NY) paced the balanced Red Hawk offense with two goals, including the game-winner, and one assist.  Sophomore Natalie White (Guilford, CT) also scored twice.

Rensselaer began its second-half surge with goals by White and senior Kate Phillips (Wilton, NY) in the opening six minutes of the period. Sophomore Alicia Chace (Cortland, NY) put Clarkson on top 8-5 with 22:45 left to play, but that would be the final goal for the Knights.

White and juniors Sabrina Alimi (Dewitt, NY) and Michelle Michalenko (Dewitt, NY) scored down the stretch to tie the game, 8-8, with less than 16 minutes remaining. Clark came through with the deciding goal, an unassisted marker, with 6:50 left on the clock.

Junior Lindsay Grigg (Watertown, NY) set a new Clarkson record for career goals with two scores.  The Knights’ leading scorer with 35 points, including 28 goals, Grigg now has a school-record 85 goals in 39 career games.

Sophomore Lindsay Walker (Syracuse, NY) led Clarkson (4-8, 0-7) against Rensselaer with two goals and one assist along with a game-high six groundballs. Sophomore Rachel Kopels (Queensbury, NY) also scored twice for the Knights. Sophomore Alicia Chace (Cortland, NY) and freshman Emily Bojarski (Syracuse, NY) added one goal each.

Rensselaer outshot Clarkson 37-27, but the Knights held a slight edge in groundballs, 28-26.

Freshman Gianna Casale (Waterford, NY) posted 11 saves for the Red Hawks. Junior Erin Duffy (Liverpool, NY) made 13 stops for Clarkson.
