NEWBURGH, N.Y. - Three Rensselaer pitchers allowed just two hits and no runs in two games as the Rensselaer softball team swept a doubleheader at Mount Saint Mary, 10-0 and 4-0.  In the first game, freshman Michelle Street (East Syracuse, NY/Syracuse-Minoa) and senior Stephanie Vanek (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown) combined on a five-inning one-hitter.  Senior Amy Huling (Vienna, VA/Holton Arms) followed that up with a one-hitter over seven innings as Rensselaer improved to 17-3.

Offensively in game one, three RPI student-athletes collected three hits apiece to lead an 18-hit attack.  Huling was 3 for 3 with two runs and an RBI, freshman Julianne Bass (Costa Mesa, CA/Newport Harbor) was 3 for 4 with a run batted in and freshman Beth Gargon (East Hampton, CT/East Hampton) was 3 for 4 with two RBI.  Junior Ann Cosgrove (Albany, NY/Albany) chipped in with two hits, two RBI and two runs scored while Street and Vanek combined to walk none and strike out seven.

In the nightcap, Huling struck out five and walked none to lead the way from the circle.  Five different players had one hit apiece, including Huling, who also had an RBI.
