TROY, N.Y. – Senior Kirk MacDonald (Victoria, BC/Victoria Salsa) tallied the eventual game-winning goal and added an assist to lead the Red team to a 6-3 victory over the White team in the Annual Red/White Scrimmage at the Houston Field House.

The Red team, which was coached by Chuck Rancourt ’70, scored two goals in the first period and four in the third for the win.

Senior Kevin Broad (Humboldt, SK/Humboldt Broncos/Chilliwack Chiefs) led the White team in scoring, tallying a tying goal in the second period before adding another goal late in the third frame. Coaching the White team was Richard Scammell ’69.

Both the men’s and women’s hockey teams joined fans after the contest for the “Skate with the Engineers.”

Rensselaer opens the 2006-07 campaign on Saturday, October 7, against York University at 7pm at the Houston Field House. The Engineers then host Boston University the following Saturday, October 14, at 7pm at the Field House.

The RPI women return to action this weekend at North Dakota. The Engineers host Wayne State on October 20 & 21 at 7pm and 3pm, respectively.
