SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's soccer team defeated St. John Fisher, 2-0, in the semi-finals of the ECAC Upstate Tournament, hosted by Union College.  The eighth-seeded Red Hawks are now 9-6-4 overall and will face second-seeded Union in Sunday's championship game at 12pm.  The Cardinals finish their season at 12-8-1.

Sophomore Jabel Prom (Sandy Spring, MD/Sherwood) gave RPI a 1-0 lead in the first half when he corralled the ball and came in from the far side, putting the ball in at the near post.

In the second half, sophomore Sean Fleury (Princeton, MA/Wachusett Regional) scored his second goal in as many games to give the Red Hawks a two-goal advantage.  Dribbling the ball across the top box, Fleury played the ball out to Michael Long (Hopkinton, NH/Hopkinton), who quickly dropped it back.  The ball careened off Fleury's head, bouncing onto his chest before he finally volleyed the ball in past the Cardinals keeper.

RPI goalie Alex Penny (Northport, NY/Northport) stopped two shots on the afternoon for his eighth shutout of the year.  Adam Durst posted four saves in the loss for St. John Fisher.
