CLINTON, N.Y. - Sydney Fasulo (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Country Day School) scored 21 points with 13 rebounds - both game-highs - and Hamilton College held Rensselaer to just 28.8% shooting in defeating the Red Hawks, 59-48, in a Liberty League women's basketball game. With the win the Continentals improve to 17-7 overall and 9-5 in the Liberty League. They finish the regular season in third place in the standings and advance to the league tournament. RPI falls to 15-10 and 8-6 and into fifth place in the Liberty League.
A sophomore center, Fasulo made 8-of-14 shots from the floor and 5-of-7 from the free throw line to record her 21 points. She had four offensive rebounds and nine defensive caroms while also recording an assist and two blocks for Hamilton, which held a 25-22 lead at halftime before pulling away in the second half.
Junior forward Pumla Sathula (Soweto, South Africa /Saint Annes-Belfield School) also recorded a double-double for the home team, registering 11 points and ten rebounds.
For Rensselaer, sophomore guard Whitney Coleman (Etiwanda, CA/Etiwanda) had 12 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Classmate Caitlyn Charest (Swansea, MA/LaSalle Academy) added 11 points, six rebounds, a game-high four assists, and three steals.
