MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - Middlebury jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first quarter and the 13th-ranked Panthers went on to an 11-2 win over Rensselaer's men's lacrosse team in a non-league game.  The loss is the first of the season for the Red Hawks, who are now 9-1.  Middlebury improves to 6-2.

Three different players tallied two goals apiece for the Panthers, who scored the final six goals of the game.  Two goalies combined for ten saves in the win.

RPI got single goals from Josh Secora (Evergreen, CO/Golden) and Briggs Thompson (South Lyme, CT/East Lyme), while two goalies combined to make 16 saves.  John Thibdeau (Altamont, NY/Bethlehem) had ten saves before giving way to Ryan Michels (Wilmington, DE/Brandywine), who stopped six shots.
