SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Rensselaer field hockey team posted its first win of the season, knocking off Western New England College, 4-0, in the third place game of the season-opening Zenaty Invitational at Springfield College.  Freshman Sandy Turnbull (Upperville, VA/Chathamm Hill) scored once and assisted on another goal - both in the second half - while classmate Lauren Fernades (Orange, OH/Orange) earned the win in goal.

Senior Michelle Roy (East Greenbush, NY/Columbia) got the Red Hawks on the board with a goal with 12:00 remaining in the first half.  Shaina Feldman (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville Area) also tallied in the first half before Turnbull scored and set up Sarah Merlin (Sharon, MA/Sharon).

Rensselaer, which saw sophomore defender #Alex Lamparski# (Malvern, PA/Country Day School of the Sacred Heart) named to the All-Tournament Team, improves to 1-1 while the Golden Bears, who had Emilie Donka in goal, fall to 0-2.
