HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Rensselaer men's basketball team scored 34 points in each half and held Hamilton to 34.1% shooting from the floor, and went on to defeat the Continentals 68-57 on Friday night. With the win the Red Hawks improve to 9-10 overall and 4-4 in Liberty League play. Hamilton falls to 12-6 on the year, including 5-3 in conference play.

Rensselaer took a 34-29 first half lead, thanks to 55.6% shooting from three-point range.

Hamilton tied the game at 49-49 with 11:14 remaining in the game. Red Hawk forward Ricky Philatre then made a layup to give RPI a lead it would not relinquish.

Six Red Hawks scored at least nine points, including Tim Rupp (Staten Island, NY/Curtis) with 12 points and six rebounds. Kris Kowalczyk (Troy, NY/Colonie) had nine points, four rebounds and four assists.

Hamilton's Harlee Wood (Clinton, MD/Bishop McNamara) led all scorers 28 points. He was followed by Ramunas Rozgys (Naujoji Akmene, Lithuania /Saint Annes-Belfield School) who had 15 points.

The Red Hawks return to action tomorrow, when they visit Hobart (4pm).
