WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Led by goals from nine different players, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's lacrosse team edged Curry College, 15-12, in non-conference action on Wednesday.  The Red Hawks, which came-from-behind for the win, improve to 3-0 on the season.  The Colonels drop to 2-2 overall.

A back and forth battled emerged in the opening half as the two teams traded goals from the opening whistle.  RPI freshman Stephanie Caouette (Wynantskill, NY/Columbia) got things going at 2:17 with a free position tally.  Down 3-2, Curry took its first lead of the game on a pair of goals by senior Meghan Tilley.

The Red Hawks rallied late in the half to regain the lead behind goals from junior Emily Donowick (West Seneca, NY/Nichols School) and sophomore Whitney Kukol (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) for a 7-5 lead at the half.

In the second frame, RPI added two quick goals at the start before Curry staged a comeback.  The Colonels tied things up, 9-9, at 42:13 and gained a two-tally advantage on a pair of goals by sophomore Ashley Sherman for an 11-9 lead at 47:11 of the contest.

Mounting a comeback of their own, the Red Hawks saw junior Kerri Clark (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs) begin a rally of five straight goals for a 14-11 advantage with less than seven minutes remaining.

Sophomore netminder Ariana Hood (Severn, MD/Old Mill) held strong in net, stopping 12 shots for her third win of the season.  For Curry, junior goalie Kerri Shaw posted 10 saves in the loss.
