TROY, N.Y. – Freshman Maggie Stevenson (Pittsburgh, PA/Quaker Valley) scored the game-winning goal with 3:44 remaining in overtime to lead the Rochester women’s lacrosse team to an 11-10 victory over Rensselaer, this afternoon at Lower Renwyck Field. With the victory, the Yellowjackets improve to 4-9 overall (3-6 Liberty League), while the Red Hawks end their regular season at 7-7 (2-6 Liberty League). 
RPI controlled much of the opening frame, scoring five of the first six goals of the game. Sophomore Sam Fennessey (Gansevoort, NY/Saratoga Springs) had three of those tallies – all from free position chances – with freshman Stephanie Caouette (Wyantskill, NY/Columbia) also finding the net. 
Freshman Allyson Hogan (Victor, NY/Victor) brought the visiting Yellowjackets to within, 5-2, with 6:27 to go in the half, but Caouette answered two minutes later to give the Red Hawks a 6-2 edge at the half. 
Rochester scored three of the first four goals in the second half to cut the RPI lead to 7-5 with 16:12 left in the game. Hogan along with juniors Abby Woodward (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) and Lindsay Dakin (Henrietta, NY/Rush Henrietta) all scored, bringing the Yellowjackets back into the game. 
After Rensselaer junior Emily Donowick (West Seneca, NY/Nichols School) pushed the Red Hawks lead to 8-5 with 12:13 remaining, Rochester went on a 4-0 run to take its first lead of the game. Hogan’s marker, which was assisted by Woodward, gave the Yellowjackets a 9-8 advantage with 4:35 left. 
Caouette and Rochester junior Sierra Laventure-Volz (Pittsburgh, PA/Winchester-Thurston) then traded goals with under three minutes to play. Caouette’s unassisted tally with 47 seconds left in regulation tied the game at 10-10. 
Each side had chances in overtime, but Stevenson’s goal with 3:44 to go, stood as the only overtime marker. Rochester netminder Leslie Dube (Skaneateles, NY/Marcellus) made two saves in extra time and finished with nine on the afternoon. Sophomore Ariana Hood (Severn, MD/Old Mill) stopped eight shots between the pipes for RPI. 
Hogan finished the day with three goals and two assists for five points. Dakin added three goals for the Yellowjackets. The Red Hawks were led offensively by Caouette, who had four goals and two assists for six points. Fennessey had four goals, including conversions on three of four free position shots.
