SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The Rensselaer softball season came to an end at the hands of Alfred, 10-0, in the ECAC Tournament at Union College.  RPI finishes the season with a 27-13 record.  The Saxons improve to 24-12.

Alfred jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning - all unearned with two outs.  The Saxons tacked on four more in the next inning and single runs in the third and fourth innings for the final margin.  

Freshman first baseman Ashley Passaro (Long Beach, NY/Long Beach) led the offense, going 3 for 4 with a run and two RBI.  Sophomore Jesika LeBarron (Campbell, NY/Corning West) was 2 for 2 with two runs and three runs batted in for the Saxons, whose 14 hits were all singles.  Holly Seidewand (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) earned the win from the circle.

RPI got singles from two different players, junior centerfielder Sara Finkbeiner (Napanoch, NY/Ellenville) and senior rightfielder Logan Russell (Cranbury, NJ/Princeton).  Freshman Felicia Bua (Gilford, NH/Gilford) took the loss.
