The homestanding Red Hawks opened its large first half lead thanks in part to an 18-4 lead that turned an 8-8 game at the 14:59 mark into a 26-12 advantage at 6:31. RPI senior Elizabeth Barker (West Suffield, CT/Cathedral) had nine points and nine rebounds in the half, while classmate Whitney Coleman (Rancho Cucamonga, CA/Etiwanda) and freshman Sarah Wetmore (Sudbury, MA/Lincoln Sudbury Regional) both had 10 points. RPI, which trailed by eight points with nearly six minutes left, closed the first half on an 11-6 spurt to force the overtime. Senior Caitylyn Charest's (Swansea, MA/LaSalle Academy) basket in the paint with six seconds remaining tied the game.

In addition to Palmer, St. Lawrence got 17 points and 11 rebounds from sophomore Abby Stanton (Avon, NY/Avon Central) and 13 points and eight rebounds from junior Brittany Parham (Fort Drum, NY/Indian River).
