WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Sarah Wetmore and Linda Larsen scored 20 and 19 points, respectively, to lead the Rensselaer women's basketball team to a, 71-68, victory over Trinity College, this afternoon in the Williams College Tournament. With the win, the Engineers improve 2-3 overall, while the Bantams fall to 5-3.

Trinity jumped out to an early lead (18-7) just six minutes into the game, thanks to five points and an assist from Kristen Fahey. Wetmore broke the scoring run with a lay-up, before a pair of free throws from Larsen brought the Engineers to within 20-11.

Junior Laura Easterling pulled RPI to within one (26-25) on a basket with 8:30 remaining in the opening frame. A Larsen free-throw drew the Engineers even at 29-all, before junior Hillary McKinley gave Rensselaer its first lead (31-29) with 5:12 to go in the first.

Michelle Royals gave Trinity a brief one-point lead with just under a minute left, but junior Nicole Monroe answered with a lay-up to take back the lead at the half (38-37).

The Bantams opened the second half strong building a four-point lead (44-40) 2:27 into the stanza, but the Engineers then took over, building a pair of nine-point leads on their way to the victory.
