HAMDEN, Conn. – The No. 5 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team tied Rensselaer, 1-1, in an ECAC Hockey match-up at High Point Solutions Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center. The tie extends Quinnipiac's NCAA-leading unbeaten streak to 15 games, 13-0-2, as they go to 16-3-3 overall and 10-0-1 in ECAC Hockey play. Renssealer goes to 6-9-4 overall and 1-5-3 in league play.

RPI jumped out to 1-0 lead just three minutes into the second period when CJ Lee scored his third goal of the season on the power play. Curtis Leonard handled the puck just below the blue line and fed Milos Bubela between the face-off circles. Bubela put a shot on goal that was denied by senior goalie Eric Hartzell before Lee picked up the puck in the crease and deposited the game's first goal.

Jeremy Langlois scored Quinnipiac's only goal of the game, with assists credited to Zach Tolkinen and Matthew Peca.  Hartzell (White Bear Lake, Minn.) stopped 24 of RPI's 25 shots on goal in the tie.

Quinnipiac answered midway through the period when Tolkinen dropped a pass off from the face-off circle to Peca on the goal line. Peca fired the puck to Langlois who was streaking in front of the Engineers' goal. Langlois one-timed a laser over the opposite shoulder of RPI's Bryce Merriam to tie the game, 1-1, with half the second period to play. The goal was Langlois' team-leading 11th of the season.
