Women's Hoops Gets 33 From Wetmore in Win

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Rensselaer's Sarah Wetmore (Sudbury, MA) went over the 30-point mark for the second straight game to lead the Engineers to a 68-54 victory over Bard in a Liberty League game on Tuesday night.

Wetmore scored a career-high 33 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and led the winners with five steals as RPI improved to 13-10 overall, 7-7 in the Liberty League. She is now second in school history in career points with 1,519. She is 11 points shy of the school record with at least two games to play. Her 475 points this season is the third most in a single campaign, just three points out of second and only 16 from first.

RPI pressed early and put together an 11-0 run midway through the first half, and led, 36-24, at halftime.

Bard pushed back in the second half, eventually cutting the lead to 58-50 with 4:14 left in the game. But RPI scored eight of the next 10 points to put the game away.

Sophomore Amanda Lynch (Middletown, NY) added 14 points and six assists for RPI, which next hosts Union on Friday night at 6.

Bard got 24 points and 16 rebounds from freshman Tytravia Riley (Miami,FL), and 11 points from sophomore Joanna Regan (Selden, NY). The Raptors finish the season at 7-18 overall, 1-15 in the Liberty League.
