TROY, N.Y. -- Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) scored once in each period, led by Celeste Brown, who scored twice to lead the Tigers to a 3-0 win over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in non-conference women's hockey action on Saturday afternoon at Houston Field House. With the loss, the Engineers fall to 2-11-2 overall, while RIT improves to 7-8-3.
Brown (Great Falls, MT / National Sports Academy) put the Tigers on the board at 10:39 of the first period, getting an assist from Cassie Clayton (Pickering, ON / Mississauga Chiefs) after putting back a rebound off Clayton's initial shot on goal. Marissa Maugeri (Ajax, ON / Durham West Lightning) doubled the RIT advantage at 17:22 of the second, getting help from Lindsay Grigg (Oakville, ON / Oakville Hornets). Haley Northcote (Cumberland, ON / Minnesota State) picked up the second assist on the tally.
Brown scored her second goal of the game at 11:27 in the final period, once again putting back a rebound on a Grigg shot, following a scrum in front of the net. Morgan Scoyne (Drumbo, ON / Stoney Creek Sabres) handed out the secondary assist.Â
RIT outshot the Engineers, 28-20, putting more shots on goal in two of the three periods. RPI managed a 9-7 advantage in the second. Rensselaer held a 35-24 advantage in faceoff wins, but was 0-for-4 on power play opportunities.

Kelly O'Brien (Sussex, WI / Madison Capitals) was solid in goal for the second straight game, picking up 25 saves between the pipes. Jetta Rackleff (Bend, OR / Anaheim Lady Ducks) stopped 20 opposing shots for the Tigers.
Rensselaer will return to action on Friday, Dec. 5, hosting Brown in an ECAC Hockey matchup at 7 p.m.
