RPI Athletics on TwitterWILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - In a competitive contest, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's basketball team edged Babson College 64-54 behind an 18-point performance from freshman guard

Babson jumped out to a 14-13 lead after one quarter. The Beavers opened the second quarter on a 10-0 run, but RPI responded with a 13-3 run to cut the deficit to two points. Babson led 28-26 at the half behind senior guard Linnet Graber, who had nine points in the first half.
The Engineers came out strong in the second half and took a 48-42 lead at the end of three quarters. In the fourth quarter, strong defense and consistent offensive production allowed RPI to stay in control and it would go on to improve to 2-1. The Beavers fall to 2-1.

Ashley Clough added 17 for the Engineers. Graber scored 15 for Babson.
