RPI TIES NO. 8 HARVARD: Despite hitting eight pipes, the Engineers played to a scoreless tie with then-No. 8 Harvard, last Saturday at the Houston Field House ... Senior netminder Jason Kasdorf returned to stop all 43 shots he faced to earn the shutout, while Crimson sophomore Merrick Madsen had 32 saves at the other end of the ice ... Senior Milos Bubela and sophomore Viktor Liljegren had five shots apiece to lead the Engineers.

ENGINEERS FALL TO DARTMOUTH: Brett Patterson scored the go-ahead goal at 8:51 of te third period to send the Big Green home with a 2-1 win over RPI, last Friday at the Houston Field House ... Carl Hesler got the scoring started for the visitors at 13:25 of the first, before Rensselaer senior Milos Bubela brought the hosts even at 11:53 of the second ... Freshman Cam Hackett made 34 saves for the Engineers, while Devin Buffalo stopped 28 shots for Dartmouth.

POINTS LEADERS: Junior Riley Bourbonnais has eight goals and four assists for a team-high 12 points in 17 games ... Sophomore Mike Prapavessis (1 goal, 10 assists) has 11 points, while classmate Lou Nanne (4 goals, 5 assists) and junior Jake Wood (5 goals, 4 assists) have nine points apiece ... Three Engineers have seven points, including senior Zach Schroeder, who has two goals and five assists.

BETWEEN THE PIPES: Senior Jason Kasdorf has started nine of the team's 17 games this season and is 3-4-1 with a 2.16 goals against average and a .937 save percentage ... Freshman Cam Hackett (5-2-2) has started nine games and carries a 2.50 goals against average and a .931 save percentage.

SPECIAL TEAMS: The Engineers come into the weekend at 12.3% (7 for 57) on the power play ...The penalty kill has climbed to 85.7% (66 for 77).

RECENTLY: Over the last five games, the RPI power play is at 6.2% (1 for 16), while the penalty kill is at 90.0% (18 for 20), which is good for fourth in ECAC Hockey since November 24.

IN THE FACE-OFF CIRCLE: The Engineers have won face-offs at a 44.6% clip over the first 17 games ... Junior Riley Bourbonnais has won a team-high 49.1% of his draws, while senior Milos Bubela is second at 48.5% ... Classmate Mark Miller rounds out the top three at 46.3%.

SCORELESS TIES: The Engineers played to a scoreless draw for the just the fifth time in school history on Saturday against eighth-ranked Harvard ... The most recent such occurance took place on January 29, 1927 ... The three other 0-0 ties came in 1912, 1916 and 1918.

FIRST EVER MEETING: Friday's game will mark the first ever meeting between  RPI and Arizona State in men's hockey ... Of the 60 current Division I teams, the Engineers have yet to play Canisius, Nebraska-Omaha, Northern Michigan and Penn State.

SCOUTING THE SUN DEVILS: Arizona State is led offensively by freshman Jordan Masters, who has five goals and nine assists for 14 points ... Classmate and defenseman Joey Raats is second with a goal and a team-best 10 assists for 11 points ... Junior Ryan Belonger (3 goals, 4 assists) and senior Liam Norris (2 goals, 5 assists) have seven points apiece.

IN GOAL FOR ARIZONA STATE: Freshman Ryland Pashovitz has started nine of the team's 13 games and has a 4-6-0 record ... He has compiled a 2.78 goals against average and a .923 save percentage ... Junior Robert Levin (0-2-0) has a 3.80 goals against average and an .890 save percentage, while freshman David Jacobson (1-0-0) has a 1.86 goals against average and a .935 save percentage.

SHORTHANDED LEADERS: Rensselaer's three shorthanded goals are the eighth most in the country ... Nebraska-Omaha leads the way with six ... Senior Milos Bubela is tied for third individually with two shorties, while Robert Morris senior Zac Lynch has four all by himself to lead the nation.

SPEADING THE SCORING AROUND: Rensselaer players have recorded two points on 13 occasions ... Sophomore Mike Prapavessis' three-point game against Western Michigan was the first by an Engineer this season.

LILJEGREN FACTOR: The Engineers are 10-3-3 when Viktor Liljegren records a point, including 3-1-1 this season ... RPI owns a 5-1-2 mark in games in which he scores a goal.
