TROY, N.Y. – Freshman Jordan Chancellor scored a pair of goals to lead the Yale University women's hockey team to a 4-1 victory over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), on Friday at the Houston Field House. With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 3-7-1 overall (2-2-1 ECAC Hockey), while the Engineers drop to 4-9-2 (2-4-1 ECAC Hockey).
Chancellor (Ramsey, MN) got the visitors on the board at 4:56 of the opening frame, sticking home a feed from junior Phoebe Staenz (Zurich, Switzerland). Sophomore Eden Murray (Medicine Hat, AB) was credited with the secondary assist.
Yale then made it 2-0, less than three minutes later, when Chancellor scored from close range for her second of the game and third of the season. Sophomore Mallory Souliotis (Acton, MA) and Murray had the helpers the second Bulldogs goal.
Souliotis made it a 3-0 lead for Yale at 13:26 of the first, before senior Jamie Haddad (Wilbraham, MA) netted an unassisted goal at 17:08.
After a scoreless second period, which saw the Engineers hit the post and come close on a number of chances, they were finally able to break through in the third. With less than a minute to play, freshman
Jaimie Grigsby (Whitby, ON/Whitby Wolves) stuffed in a tight-angle shot past Yale junior goaltender Hanna Mandl (Nobleton, ON) for her first collegiate tally.

Lovisa Selander (Sollentuna, Sweden/SDE Riksserien) made 39 saves, including 19 in the second period alone. Mandle had 22 stops at the other end of the ice.
RPI went 0 for 3 on the power play, while Yale finished 0 for 1.

AVOIDING THE SHUTOUT:
The Engineers scored with 43 seconds remaining in the game, keeping Yale goalie Hanna Mandl from her first collegiate shutout.
