North Country Trip for #RPIHockey

Game Notes | RPI Lines (Sat.) | Live Audio (WRPI) | Live Video

THE FACEOFF
The Engineers visit the North Country for two games, taking on ECAC Hockey foes St. Lawrence and Clarkson for the first time this season. Those schools return the trip to Troy at the end of the month to close out the regular season. Both games, which will be played Friday and Saturday nights at 7pm, will be broadcast live on WRPI, 91.5 FM, and www.wrpi.org with Perry Laskaris '07 on the call.

IN THE NORTH COUNTRY
RPI has traveled to the North Country to play Clarkson and St. Lawrence 62 times. The Engineers have most often come home with zero points (28 times = 45.2%), followed by two points (22 = 35.5%). They have earned one point five times (8.1%), four points on four occasions (6.5%) and three points three times (4.8%). Rensselaer's most recent four point trip was 2012-13 after being swept the season before. Last year, the Engineers lost at Clarkson (3-0) and defeated St. Lawrence (4-3).

SERIES HISTORY WITH ST. LAWRENCE
Rensselaer and St. Lawrence have played 138 times and the Saints hold a 77-55-6 record. RPI's last win was last February on the road (4-3), while the Engineers lost to the Saints later that month (4-0). In Canton, SLU holds a 49-21-2 record over the Engineers, but RPI hasn't lost at Appleton Arena since 2011.

SERIES HISTORY WITH CLARKSON
RPI has played the Golden Knights 142 times since 1925 and Clarkson holds an 85-48-9 record over the Engineers. Rensselaer's last victory over the Golden Knights came on March 1, 2013 - a 5-0 win - which was the last of a three-game win streak for RPI. Last season's games resulted in a 3-0 loss for the Engineers in Potsdam, and a 2-2 tie in Troy. Clarkson boasts a 46-22-6 record against RPI on their home ice, with Rensselaer's last victory in Potsdam coming on Feb. 9, 2013.

IN THE RECORD BOOKS
The Engineers have played Clarkson more than any other school (142 times) and St. Lawrence the second most (138). RPI's 55 wins against the Saints is third most, while the 77 losses ranks second to only 85 losses to Clarkson. In league play, RPI has played Clarkson (110) and St. Lawrence (109) the most times with the 71 and 56 losses, respectively, also ranking first and second.

LAST WEEKEND
Rensselaer had just one game last weekend, visiting Dartmouth, and the Engineers lost, 3-1. Riley Bourbonnais scored the lone goal for RPI, getting assists from Jared Wilson and Kenny Gillespie. Goaltender Jason Kasdorf finished with 20 saves for the Engineers.
