Box Score | Text Message AlertsMYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Sophomore Stephanie Caudle threw a complete game shutout to lead the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) softball team to a 5-0 victory over Eureka College.Caudle, who earned a save earlier in the day, threw 7.0 scoreless innings, to improve to 1-1 on the year. She allowed just five hits, while striking out six with a walk. Red Devils freshman righthander took the loss, allowing four runs (2 earned) on eight hits in 4.1 innings.
The Engineers broke on top with two runs in the second inning, Freshman
Victoria Greco (Guilderland, NY/Guilderland) got the scoring started with an RBI-single. Later in the inning, classmate Devon Puhl (Frederick, MD/Linganere) drew a walk with the bases loaded.

Morgan Ten Eyck (Guilderland, NY/Guilderland) gave RPI a 3-0 lead in the top of the fifth. Her double plated her sister
Taylor Ten Eyck (Guilderland, NY/Guilderland). Sophomore
Courtney McArthur (Coventry, RI/St. Mary Academy) followed with an RBI-groundout with brought home classmate Lillian Kolehmainen (Fresno, CA/Bullard) from third.
Rensselaer capped the scoring in the top of the sixth, when freshman
Christine White (Acushnot, MA/Tabor Academy) reached on a fielder's choice, which scored classmate
Rebecca Kienz (Newburgh, NY/Valley Central).
The Engineers return to the diamond on Monday, when they take on Kentucky Lutheran (11:30am). Eureka takes on Rutgers-Camden (9:30am) and Frostburg State (11:30am).
