LAST TIME OUT - RPI• Four players scored multiple goals for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), while the Engineers held Hamilton to just one goal in the second half to come back for a 10-8 win over the Continentals in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Wednesday evening.
Breanainn McNeally and
Matt Hall each scored two goals and recorded one assist, while
Pat Hogan and
Jake Weidner both scored twice.
LAST TIME OUT - BARD• Bard cut five-goal second-half deficits to three - twice - but Castleton State held off the Raptors, 13-8, in a non-league game on Wednesday night. Blake Burnley finished with three goals and two assists, and Mat Livermore had a goal and an assist. The Raptors got 17 saves from John Henry Glascock.
THE ENGINEERS•
Breanainn McNeally leads all players with 33 goals to go along with nine assists. He tied a career-best with five goals against Wesleyan.
Jake Weidner is second on the team with 21 goals, while both
Patrick Finn and freshman
Matthew Gilman are tied for the team lead with 16 assists. Finn has added 20 goals.
• Sophomore
David Gibbs has started every game in the net for the Engineers. He has recorded double digit save totals in seven games this season, and is posting an 8.74 goals against average. He was named the USILA Defensive Player of the Week on March 17 after a career-best 19 saves versus Ursinus.
• RPI has allowed just three goals in 35 attempts while on the man-down, and is currently leading all of Division III with an 86.0% conversion rate. Last season, RPI had a 90% conversion rate in man-down situations, which was the best in the nation and also the highest percentage in school history. The Engineers, converted 36-of-40 opportunities.
THE RAPTORS• Bard is 3-10 overall, with a 1-5 mark in Liberty League play. The Raptors' lone conference win came on April 4, in a 9-8 victory over Skidmore. Bard most recently recorded Liberty League losses to St. Lawrence (18-3) and Clarkson (14-5).
• John Palermo leads the Raptors with 23 goals and 10 assists for 23 total points. Mat Livermore (19 goals) and Blake Burnley (15 goals) also help to pace the Bard offense.
• John Henry Glascock is the lone goalkeeper on the roster for the Raptors. The sophomore has recorded double-digit saves in 11 games, including a season-high 20 against Union on March 21.
