GAMEDAY: The Engineers look to improve to 2-0 in the Liberty League when it hosts the Golden Knights of Clarkson ... RPI defeated Hobart, 60-51, in the conference opener on Saturday ... CU fell at Union on Saturday, 66-57.

RPI VS. CLARKSON: Seniors Tyler Gendron and Chase Almond combined for 22 points and 17 rebounds with five assists, two steals and three blocks in leading Rensselaer to a 60-51 victory over Hobart ... Gendron scored a team-best 14 points on 5 of 10 shooting with four rebounds, two assists and a steal ... Almond had a team-high 13 rebounds with eight points, three assists, a steal and a game-high three blocked shots ... Rensselaer snapped a nine-game losing streak to Hobart.

FOUR-GAME WEEK: Rensselaer played two games earlier this week, competing in the Woodcliff Hotel & Spa Invitational, hosted by St. John Fisher ... The Engineers defeated Wilkes 84-71 on Tuesday before losing to SJF 67-54 on Wednesday.

AGAINST WILKES: Freshman guard Tom Horvat scored a team-best 20 points to lead the Engineers ... Horvat also had three rebounds and a game-high six steals ... Senior Tyler Gendron had 16 points, while classmate Chase Almond had 12 points and a team-high six rebounds ... Junior Jonathan Luster dished out five assists.

AGAINST ST. JOHN FISHER: The Cardinals used a 12-0 run early in the second half to turn a two-point advantage into a 14-point bulge on the way to victory ... Freshman Tom Horvat scored on a layup 1:55 into the second half to pull Rensselaer to within 41-39, but the Cardinals answered ... Tyler Gendron led the Engineers with 14 points, including 12 in the first half, while Chase Almond had six points and a team-best seven rebounds.

CLARKSON TIES: RPI second-year head coach Mark Gilbride joined Rensselaer as the head men's basketball coach in August 2014 from Clarkson University, where he was the head men's basketball coach for the five years prior.

CLARKSON AT UNION: On the wrong end of a 17-4 run early in the second half, Clarkson fell to Union College, 66-57 ... Clarkson took a modest five-point lead (21-16) after a Drew Zlogar 3-pointer at the 7:24 - the first basket made by someone other than Derek Hart and Conrad Zampier, who combined to score CU's first 14 points ... The Knights shot close to 50% (10-for-21) in the first half, but committed 13 turnovers and allowed Union 12 offensive rebounds ... Following the 17-4 Union run, the Knights would climb back to within 13 points on two occasions, but Union extended its lead to 20 points (65-45) with just under five minutes to go ... The Dutchmen scored just one point in the final 4:45 but the Knights' run was too little too late ... Zampier finished with a team-best 17 points with six rebounds and three steals ... Hart had 12 points and two blocks, while Drew Zlogar tossed in 10 points.
