ENGINEERS DROP A PAIR IN ORONO
The Engineers were swept in their season-opening two-game series at Maine last weekend, falling by scores of 5-1 and 4-2 ... The Black Bears scored three goals in the first period of game 1 and three in the third period of game 2 ... RPI held a 2-1 lead in the series finale, but couldn't hold onto the lead, allowing the three tallies on 19 shots.

Brad Malone (2 goals), Matt Frattin (goal, assist) and Danny Kristo (goal, assist) paced the Fighting Hawks, while Allen York made 34 saves for the Engineers.
